Jacob Gordon · Former Insurance Defense Attorney Florida Car Accident and Rideshare Lawyer

I spent years defending drivers, auto insurers, and rideshare claims. Now I use what I learned to get injured people paid.

A crash turns your week upside down. You have medical bills, a car in the shop, and an adjuster calling to “get your side of the story.”

That adjuster works for the insurance company. I know because I used to advise them. Now I sit on your side of the table.

Florida law

PIP pays first

Florida requires personal injury protection (the part of your own car insurance that pays medical bills no matter who caused the crash). It covers up to $10,000 in medical bills and lost wages. You must get treatment within 14 days, and without an emergency medical condition finding, PIP caps at $2,500. Fla. Stat. § 627.736

Pain and suffering needs a threshold

To recover for pain and suffering from the at fault driver, Florida requires a permanent injury, significant scarring, or significant loss of a bodily function. Fla. Stat. § 627.737

Fault is shared, but over 50% bars you

Rideshare coverage depends on the app

Once a driver accepts a ride, the rideshare company’s policy must carry at least $1 million in liability coverage. When the app is on but no ride is accepted, the required coverage is much lower. Fla. Stat. § 627.748

Think it might have been your fault?

Call anyway. I’ll look at your claim and give you my honest take. Fault is often split, and you may still have a claim. I can also share names of PIP doctors my past clients spoke highly of. The choice is always yours.

How my defense experience helps you.

I know how they value your claim. Insurers score a claim by treatment gaps, recorded statements, and what your medical records say in the first two weeks. I build your file so those soft spots are closed before the adjuster ever looks. That means a higher number on their side of the ledger.

I’ve defended rideshare claims. Uber and Lyft cases have layers: the driver’s personal policy, the company policy, and the question of whether the app was on. I know which policy they will try to push you toward and why. You get pointed at the right coverage from day one, not after months of runaround.

I find every policy. The at fault driver, an employer if they were working, a vehicle owner who loaned the car, your own uninsured motorist coverage. Every policy found is more money available to you.

I handle your property damage claim at no charge. Getting your vehicle fixed or replaced is part of getting your life back. I handle that claim for you and charge nothing for it.

I handle your case personally. Not a case manager. You call or text, I answer.
